UOB names Susan Hwee as head of group retail

Eddie Khoo to retire; Lawrence Goh is new head of GTO.

UOB has appointed Susan Hwee as head of group retail, effective 1 September, as incumbent Eddie Khoo heads to UOB Vietnam as a senior advisor.u

Lawrence Goh will take over Hwee’s role as head of group technology and operations (GTO).

Hwee brings 35 years of experience in technology and banking in her new role. She first joined UOB in 2001, and is said to have spearheaded initiatives to transform UOB’s digital and data architecture. Notably, she played a role in the development of UOB’s digital banking platform, UOB TMRW.

Hwee will be replaced as head of GTO by Goh effective 1 September. Goh brings over 30 years of IT experience across corporate and consultancy roles. 

Khoo will retire from his role as UOB’s head of group retail and become a senior advisor for UOB Vietnam. He first joined UOB in 2005 and is credited for its growth to a customer base of over 8 million.
