UOB to take legal action against Yang Kee Logistics’ ex-CEO
The bank called Ken Koh’s allegations baseless.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) will take legal action against Ken Koh against what they say are “baseless allegations” and “defamatory remarks.”
The Singapore-based bank said that it will also take legal action against The Online Citizen and its editor Xu Yuanchen, according to a statement posted on 1 April 2025 on its website.
Koh is the former CEO of Yang Kee Logistics (Singapore).
UOB said that it had requested Koh to retract his allegations and apologize for his remarks on 26 March.
“This is necessary as the allegations are false and defamatory,” UOB said in thes statement.
In 2023, a court judgement dismissed Koh’s application to appoint judicial managers over Yang Kee Logistics.
Yang Kee first defaulted on its interest payment obligations to bondholders in 2018, and further defaulted upon maturity of the bonds in 2020, UOB said.
