BS Financial eyes savings bank business

BS Financial Group is considering breaking into the savings bank sector in a bid to expand its business portfolio.

 

"BS Financial Group is reviewing how to enter the industry, its timing and expected synergy effect," the company said in a regulatory filing. "But nothing has been decided yet."

 The public disclosure came after a Korea Economic Daily reported BS Financial Group CEO Lee Jang-ho is considering taking over a savings bank with an asset size below US$920 million in the first half of this year.
