ANZ’s group executive for Australia retail is retiring

Maile Carnegie will retire from the role on 1 July 2025.

The Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Banking Group announced that Maile Carnegie is retiring as group executive Australia Retail on 1 July 2025.

Carnegie will focus on non-executive roles.

Current Suncorp Bank CEO Bruce Rush has been named acting group executive Australia Retail for ANZ whilst “a global search is undertaken,” the Australian bank said in a statement on its website.

She first joined ANZ in 2016 as group executive Digital Banking, where she was tasked with improving the digital experience of the banks’ customers.

Since 2022, Carnegie has led ANZ’s retail business in Australia, which services over six million customers.
