BEA's life insurance arm unveils new Wellcare Critical Illness Insurance plan

Premium period as short as 10 years.

The Bank of East Asia announces the launch of the Wellcare Critical Illness Insurance plan by BEA Life Limited, BEA’s wholly-owned life insurance arm.

The Plan offers protection against a comprehensive range of critical illnesses up to the age of 100 with a premium period as short as 10 years.

The Plan is one of the most extensive in the market, covering 56 major illnesses, 52 early stage illnesses, and 18 minor illnesses. If an insured person is diagnosed with a covered illness, a lump sum benefit or advanced payment of part of the sum insured will be payable. A death benefit will be paid to any designated beneficiaries should the insured person pass away during the protection period.

The Plan also offers a “Second Medical Opinion” service, enabling insured persons to obtain free consultations and medical advice from top-notch medical centres throughout the United States, Europe and Asia so they can make an informed choice regarding treatment.

All persons aged between 3 months and 60 years can enrol in a Wellcare Critical Illness Insurance plan. Flexible premium payment options are available.

Customers can choose to pay the premium in either US dollars or Hong Kong dollars annually, semiannually, or monthly. Moreover, from now until 31st December, 2013, customers who successfully enrol in the Plan will enjoy a 5% premium discount on the first-year annualised premium.
