China banks' assets up 11.4% to $35.04t as of end-June

A report from Reuters noted that the value of assets held by China's banking sector rose 11.4 percent to 236.54 trillion yuan ($35.04 trillion) as of end-June compared with a year earlier, the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) said on Tuesday.

"Liabilities rose 11.3 percent from a year earlier to 218.39 trillion yuan, it said on its website. ($1 = 6.7502 Chinese yuan)," Reuters added.
