Citi boost FX team in Japan, JANA, and Asia South with new hires

New hires include a head of corporate FX sales in India and three director-level hires.

Citi is boosting its FX team in Japan, Asia North & Australia (JANA) and Asia South with seven new hires since September.

Its corporate FX sales team saw the entrance of Manoj Goel as head of corporate FX sales for India, and Cassalynne Lou joining the corporate FX sales team in Singapore.

Goel joins from HSBC, where he was head of global markets corporate sales. He has 23 years working in the Indian markets. Lou, meanwhile, joins from Barclays, and brings seven years of experience working in FX sales.

Citi’s institutional FX sales team welcomed three new faces. Yusuke Aita joins as a director based in Tokyo, Japan. He joins from BNP Paribas, where he covered FX institutional sales, and brings 17 years of experience in FX across trading and sales.

Renee Gao joins the team as a director in Hong Kong. She comes from HSBC’s Hong Kong office, where she worked on EM fixed income and FX products for institutional clients.

Mathew Lim also joins the team in Singapore as a vice president (VP). Prior to his new role, he worked in UBS, specializing in banks and private banks coverage across FX and rates. He also previously worked at Credit Agricole.

Finally, Citi’s FX trading team welcomed two new faces.

Nicky Lam has been appointed to Citi’s G10 FX options trading team as a director. He joins from Nomura International Singapore, where he was head of G10 options for APAC.

Jonathan Chua joins the FX trading desk as a Singapore SGD trader and STIR. He previously worked at Wells Fargo, Natwest Markets, and Maybank.
