Citi hires Kriss Pachauri to lead ANZ global asset manager coverage

Citi says it has a “strong pipeline” in the financial sponsors segment.

Citi has appointed Kriss Pachauri as director, global asset managers, Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Citi, Pachauri was a director at the investment bank Houlihan Lokey, where he worked as a director covering M&A execution and origination across sectors, according to a media announcement.

Pachauri also previously worked at BBRC Private Equity, Fort Street Advisors, and Goldman Sachs.

He reports to John Mclean, head of equity capital markets and global asset managers for Australia and New Zealand. He will be based in Sydney.

Citi said that it has a strong pipeline in the financial sponsors segment across Asia Pacific, and that Pachauri is well-placed to capitalise on the opportunity.

One of the bank’s notable deals in 2025 include serving as financial adviser to Pacific Equity Partners on its $1.4b acquisition SG Fleet.

Citi also acted as financial advisor to KKR on the acquisition of ProTen, and on Carlye’s acquisition of a majority stake in Waste Services Group.
