HSBC names ex-Citi banker as head of global banking in Singapore

Gilbert Ng has experience in corporate finance and risk management.

HSBC has announced Gilbert Ng as the new head of global banking (GB) in Singapore, effective 2 May.

Ng is tasked with growing the franchise and supporting HSBC’s advisory, financing, and transaction banking solutions for HSBC’s Singapore clients.

Ng succeeds Priya Kini, who is now head of commercial banking in the Lion City.

Prior to joining HSBC, Ng spent 17 years in Citibank, where he worked on corporate finance and risk management. 

He will be based in Singapore and will report to Christina Ma, head of GB for Asia Pacific; and at a country level to Wong Kee Joo, HSBC Singapore’s CEO.
