RHB interested in engaging in M&A

Lender sees possibility of the move within the year if it would give strategic advantage.

RHB Bank Bhd may consider merger and acquisition (M&A) if an opportunity arises, said its group managing director, Datuk Tajuddin Atan.

"The bank will not close the door if the strategic fit comes into the picture," he told reporters after the launch of the second season of RHB-The Star Mighty Minds National Challenge in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

"From a strategic perspective, it is possible," Tajuddin said, when asked whether there could be a M&A this year.

He said the Mighty Minds was held in support of the government's initiative in encouraging secondary students to expand and develop their knowledge in mathematics and science.
