SCB allocates $539m to finance 9 green hotel projects in Thailand
These will be developed by seven hotel groups.
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has given out over $539.35m (THB17.575b) in green loans to support seven hotel groups in developing nine sustainable hotels.
The nine hotels will be developed by B&G Group, Benchasiri Park Property, Jee Teng Hospitality, The Platinum Group, Proud Group, Beachfront Hideaway, and Boutique Corporation.
Each of the hotels are expected to meet the international Green Building Certification standards, positioning them as “green hotels,” the Thai bank said in an announcement in April 2026. These include the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
SCB expects the hotels to become “benchmarks for strong commitment to transitioning toward eco-friendly hospitality.”
SCB loan portfolio in Thailand’s hospitality industry exceeds $4.14b (THB135b).
