SMFG’s CET1 ratio climb to 12.75% on higher capital

The Japanese megabank earlier reported a profit of $8.99b for the 9M period.

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group’s common equity tier 1 (CET1) capital ratio climbed to 12.75% as of end-December 2025, 0.31 percentage point (ppt) higher than in March 2025.

CET1 capital is at nearly JPY12.61t, SMFG announced on 13 February 2026.

For Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), CET1 ratio is 12.76%, a 0.26 ppt climb from March 2025 levels. SMBC’s CET1 capital is nearly JPY10.9b.

SMFG earlier reported a profit of over $8.99b (JPY1.39t) for the nine-month period that ended on 31 December 2025.
