Standard Chartered names global heads for CPBB business

Xie Wen and Mohamed Kerain are tasked with growing SC’s CPBB business.

Standard Chartered Bank (SC) has appointed Xie Wen as global head, Business Banking and Mohamed Kerain as global head, digital for its Consumer, Private, and Business Banking (CPBB) business.

They will both report to Judy Hsu, CEO, CPBB. 

Xie Wen currently is SC’s co-head, client coverage for commercial, corporate & institutional banking in China. She has spent the last 25 years of her banking career with Standard Chartered, notably as country chief risk officer for both Singapore and China before going on to become head of commercial banking in China in 2015. 

In her new role, effective 1 April 2022, Xie Wen will be responsible for further expanding Business Banking in an efficient and sustainable way through partnerships whilst simplifying how the bank engages with clients through digital onboarding, according to SC.

Meanwhile, Kerain is joining from ING where he began his career with ING Direct France in 2006. He assumed several positions at ING’s head office in Amsterdam, including product manager, innovation program manager and head of business development for retail markets in Europe, Australia, and Asia from 2011 to 2017. ING appointed him as head of retail development Asia in 2018.
