Citi hires Alexander Wong to boost APAC client coverage
He joins from Credit Suisse.
Citi has hired Alexander Wong as a managing director in its investment banking business to strengthen senior client coverage across Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Wong will focus on the industrials and mobility sector and will report to Lei Li, Citi’s APAC head of industrials for investment banking.
He joins from Credit Suisse, where he was also a managing director and led coverage for mobility and industrial technology.
Citi said the hire follows strong activity in its industrials franchise in 2025.
This included the stake sale by Haier India to Bharti Enterprises and Warburg Pincus, described as the largest China–India partnership transaction to date, and the $2.4b completion of Geely’s privatisation of Zeekr, the largest electric vehicle merger globally.
The bank expects momentum in the sector to continue into 2026, supported by a strong deal pipeline and a more favourable environment for transactions.
