Standard Chartered appoints equities, fixed income CIOs to global team
New Singapore and Hong Kong roles support wealth advisory platform
Standard Chartered has expanded its Global Chief Investment Office with two senior appointments, adding leadership for equities and for fixed income and foreign exchange as it builds out its wealth advisory platform, according to a press release.
Sundeep Gantori has joined the bank as Chief Investment Officer for Equities and will lead global equity strategy and its delivery to frontline teams and clients. He is based in Singapore and reports to Steve Brice, Global Chief Investment Officer.
Gantori has nearly two decades of experience as an equity strategist and joins from UBS, where he served as CIO Equity Strategist at UBS Global Wealth Management. His coverage included global technology sectors such as semiconductors, software and internet services, and he managed the CIO’s global artificial intelligence portfolio.
Jonathan Liang has been appointed Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income and FX and will oversee strategy across fixed income, currencies and commodities. He is based in Hong Kong and also reports to Brice.
Liang brings more than 25 years of investment experience and joins from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was Head of Asia ex-Japan Investment Specialists for the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Group, advising financial institutions, fintech platforms, sovereign wealth funds and central banks.
