Hong Leong Bank unveils AI-powered chatbot

‘HALI’ will answer staff queries on HR procedures like medical benefits and leave policies.

Hong Leong Bank Berhad unveiled an AI-powered virtual assistant named ‘HALI’ in an effort to streamline the bank’s operations efficiency.

According to a press release, HALI will assist in human resource and branch operations by assuming the responsibility of answering staff queries on HR policies and procedures.

Through personal digital devices, such as smartphones and tablets, bank staff can make enquiries with regards to HR policies & procedures including medical benefits, leave policy amongst others 24/7 through virtual conversations with HALI.

Through HALI, HLB seeks to improve internal operations efficiency by as much as 60%, thanks to a significant reduction in repetitive and manual operations such as answering emails and internal telephone enquiries.

“HALI has allowed us to automate time-consuming and routine tasks. This allows our staff to focus on greater productivity and efficiency towards improving the overall customer experience. Innovative digital initiatives such as this will help us create a more engaging and rewarding employee experience,” said HLB CEO Domenic Fuda.
