BOCHK warns against phishing websites

The websites  have bill settlement pages with links that intend to steal customers' data.

Bank of China (Hong Kong) has warned customers against phishing websites with embedded links that purportedly intend to steal customers’ banking information.

The bill settlement page of these trading platforms lead to a login page or a page entering a transaction confirmation code. These pages intend to steal customers’ data, such as the internet banking number/username, password and transaction confirmation code, the bank said in a statement.

BOCHK declares that it has no connection with the fraudulent websites.

The bank has also reported these platforms to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Police Force.
