Chinese bank opens for business in Sweden

Bank of China has opened the first Chinese bank branch in the Nordic region.

The branch of the Bank of China (BOC) in Stockholm, Sweden is also BOC’s first branch in Sweden. Guo Xin, head of the Stockholm branch, said the branch aims to provide superior international financial services. He also noted that this year is the 100th anniversary of BOC's founding.

The Stockholm branch provides saving and loan service, remittance, foreign exchange trading, trade financing and letters of guarantee service for both corporate and personal customers.

Guo said that with the fast growth of trade between China and Sweden, BOC will make great efforts to set up a more convenient financial platform for bilateral trade. He revealed that BOC is planning to set-up branches in other Nordic countries in the short-term.
