Alipay+ teams with LankaPay to push LankaQR payments

LankaQR is Sri Lanka’s national QR payment network.

Alipay+ has partnered with LankaPay and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) to provide exclusive offers and promotions to Alipay+ partner users making purchases using LankaQR.

These incentives are expected to increase tourist spending within Sri Lanka, according to a press release by Ant International.

The collaboration is part of the SLTDA’s goal of attracting tourists from key Asian and APAC markets.

It is also expected to encourage micro and small merchants to adopt cross-border QR payment acceptance via LankaQR.

Alipay+ is Ant International’s unified wallet gateway. It currently has over 40 international partners, including e-wallets and bank apps, reaching over 1.8 billion user accounts.
