Taiwanese credit card balance at $3.49b in October

There were 38.72 million active credit cards during the month.

The balance of revolving credit held by Taiwanese credit card issuers stood at about $3.49b (NT$113.3b) as of end-October 2024, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

This is 0.62% higher than the $3.46b (NT$112.6b) in balances that the 32-credit card issuing institutions held as of end-September 2024.

Total active cards was 38.72 million as of end-October, whilst total effective cards were 58.66 million.

Monthly retail sales were $12.45b (NT$404.8b) as of end-October, rising from NT$367.7b in September.

Average ratio of delinquency credit– pass-due over three months— against account receivables was 0.29%, the same as in October.
