Taiwan’s credit card balance rose in April

The amount of undue balance of installment fell from the previous month.

The balance held by Taiwanese credit card companies rose slightly in April 2025 compared to the previous month.

The balance of revolving credit was about $3.85b (NT$114b) for April, compared to about $3.82b (NT$113.1b) in end-March, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan.

The amount of undue balance of installment was approximately $5.47b (NT$161.8b), lower than the NT$167.5b held at end-March 2025.

Monthly retail sales paid via credit card was about $12.62b (NT$373.3b) in April, lower than the approximately $12.76b (NT$377.2b) in March.

The amount of monthly write-off was NT$0.62b, lower than NT$0.64b previously.
