TPBank partners TerraPay for real-time payments across 156 countries

They do not have to make multiple bilateral relationships or invest heavily on tech, a bank official said.

Vietnam’s TPBank has partnered with TerraPay for real-time outbound cross-border payments.

Under their partnership, TPBank will gain access to TerraPay’s network and connect its customers to bank accounts and wallet destinations across over 156 countries and territories.

“Partnering with TerraPay empowers us to rapidly expand our international payment offerings without the burden of multiple bilateral relationships or heavy technology investment,” said Nguyen Viet Ahn, deputy CEO, strategy and banking governance, TPBank.

TPBank can continue to utilise its existing SWIFT connectivity while gaining access to these connections, TPBank and TerraPay said in the statement.

All inbound and outbound remittance transactions are subject to stringent controls to ensure compliance with Vietnam’s foreign exchange regulations and anti-money laundering requirements, TPBank and TerraPay said.

Vietnam recorded nearly 18 billion non-cash transactions in teh first nine months of 2025, already surpassing the 17.7 billion recorded for the whole year of 2024, according to data from the State Bank of Vietnam’s Payment Department.
