Bain Capital buying 18% stake in Manappuram Finance for $508m

The deal may close in Q2 or Q3 of the 2026 financial year.

Bain Capital is buying an 18% stake in India’s Manappuram Finance for $508m, according to a 20 March 2025 announcement.

Bain will reportedly subscribe to Manappuram's shares and warrants at 236 rupees apiece, implying a 30% premium over its six-month average trading price, reports Reuters.

In an announcement, the India-based gold loan provider said that it expects the deal to close in the second or third quarter of the 2026 financial year.

Bain Capital will reportedly be classified as a promoter of the company post-investment and will jointly control it with existing promoters.
