Kasikorn Bank to spur small tourism business

The lender collaborated with tourism institutions in Thailand to offer a $484,496 soft loan to operators.

Kasikorn Bank, Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Association of Domestic Travel have joined hands to launch a campaign aimed at strengthening small tourism businesses.

The campaign will offer small-scale tourism-related operators, such as hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops and tourism agencies an access to a soft loan of up to 15 million THB ($484,496) regardless of whether they have collaterals. Kasikorn Bank expects to provide total loans of four billion THB ($129.2 million) to 13,000 customers.

With regard to PR, Kasiokorn Bank, Google Thailand and Advanced Info Service PCL will update the operators on the market trend with SMS service through which the operators can advertise their business as well.

In addition, Kasikorn Bank has planned to provide small businesses with several branches of knowledge, including financing and accounting. Workshops will also be held for operators requiring specific skills, such as spas and tourism agencies.
