Danamon launches Manchester United cards

Bank Danamon launched Manchester United debit and ATM cards with benefits ranging from shopping deals to watching the team’s matches live.

Danamon’s MU card allows at least 38 customers per year to watch an MU football match in Old Trafford stadium and attend a training session with the club’s coaches and players, visit players’ locker rooms and participate in a stadium and museum tour.

The card also allows holders to earn points through debt transactions that could later be redeemed for airfare tickets and various MU merchandise. Card holders could also recieve deals at various cafes, sport shops, apparel outlets, the futsal arena and with other select merchants.

The cards, with three features arranged for MU fans in Indonesia, can be obtained in Danamon’s branches throughout the country for customers who open savings accounts worth at least Rp 250,000 or US$27.25 said Michelline Triwardhany, the bank’s consumer banking director.

MU has almost 30 million fans and 3 million Facebook fans in Indonesia. Last season MU matches were viewed almost 300 million times in Indonesia, a 50 percent increase ”which demonstrates the enormity of our fanbase throughout the country”, said MU commercial director Richard Arnold.
