Mastercard forms Greater China Division

Greater China Division President Dennis Chang will serve as its head.

Mastercard has formed the Greater China Division and appointed Dennis Chang as head, expanding on his role as division president of Greater China.

“Realigning operations to allow for greater synergies, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan will operate as the newly formed Greater China division,” Mastercard said in a press statement.

The structural changes and related appointments are effective as of 16 May.

In his new role, Chang will oversee the operation and growth of Mastercard’s businesses across the Greater China region.

Prior to becoming division president, he served as executive vice president and division president of China. He also previously served as head of market development of Greater China and general manager of China, where he played a leadership role in driving online and mobile payment businesses and promoting the usage and acceptance across markets.

Before joining Mastercard, he worked in leadership roles across Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, ANZ, Bank of Communications and HSBC.
