Taiwanese banks’ total outstanding loans rise to $11.89b in Jan
The NPL ratio rose to 0.16% and NPL coverage ratio fell.
Total outstanding loans extended by 38 Taiwanese domestic banks has risen to $11.89b (NT$389b) in January 2025, compared to $1.31b (NT$42.6t) in December 2024, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).
The non-performing loans of the banks is $2.1b (NT$68.5b), rising from $1.88b (NT$61.4b)
The average NPL ratio of the 38 banks rose by 0.01 percentage points (ppt) to 0.16% as of January.
Coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs fell by 89.62 percentage points to 845.58% in January.
