Taiwanese SME loans rise in January on more bank loans
Average NPL ratio is 0.03 ppt higher than a month earlier.
Loans extended to Taiwan’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) amounted to NT$10.36b by the end of January 2025, an NT$23.9b increase compared to the previous month.
Loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 64.09% and 67.86% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises, respectively.
Average non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of the SME loans was 0.26%, a 0.03 percentage points (ppt) compared to end-December 2024.
