Krungsri unveils corporate banking plans in ASEAN
It affirmed its desire to support Japanese corporations operating in Thailand.
Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri) is eyeing more collaborations with governments and consulting services targeting high-potential industries as key strategies to expand its corporate banking business in the ASEAN.
In a statement, the Thailand-headquartered bank said that it will focus on emerging sectors such as bio green, semiconductors, food technology, and smart agriculture in 2025, which it said are industries poised to shape Thailand’s future economy.
It cited its Japan-ASEAN Startup Business Matching Fair as a highlight of this strategic direction. The fair brought over 54 startups and showcased Japanese technologies focused on disaster prevention and facilitated over 400 business matches in a single day, Krungsri said.
Krungsri also plans to offer tailored financial solutions in business throughout ASEAN.
Krungsri said that it will continue to advance its goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions through increased collaboration with the public sector to promote knowledge exchange, raise awareness, and accelerate the transition toward sustainable operations.
The Thailand-headquartered bank highlighted Japanese companies in Thailand, saying that they are committed to empowering them to achieve sustainable growth.
Krungsri covers over 70% of Japanese businesses in Thailand.
““Krungsri will remain a key driving force for Japanese corporations and support for the growth of Thai economy, advancing innovation, nurturing growth, and fostering regional partnerships to support customer success. We are committed to being the first call business partner and Platformer for Society and Environment,” said Bunsei Okubo, Krunsri head of Japanese corporate banking.
