HSBC targets cross-border wealth with veteran Asia hires
William Fok returns to lead Thailand operations.
HSBC Private Bank announced its appointments of senior leaderships in onshore Thailand, Southeast Asia, and offshore China and Global India, which the firm said are its key focus areas for cross-border wealth management.
William Fok was appointed to lead HSBC Private Bank’s onshore Thailand private banking business, based in Bangkok.
This appointment marks Fok’s return to HSBC, who previously spent close to five years with the bank across Hong Kong and Bangkok. He has over 20 years of experience in structured products and investment advisory.
Dawn Fung was appointed head of wealth planning, Southeast Asia, effective immediately.
In her role, Fung will continue to lead the region’s wealth planning agenda, expanding HSBC’s coverage of wealth planning and advisory topics for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients and families.
She has over 25 years of experience across the banking and trust industries, including more than 22 years with HSBC.
Alex Liu was appointed market head of Offshore China, extending his coverage to the firm’s offshore teams in Singapore, in addition to his coverage in Hong Kong.
Phaneendar Bhavaraju and Rangan Krishnan joined the bank’s Global India team in Singapore as senior relationship Managers.
Bhavaraju brings over 28 years of experience across FX, rates, derivatives, precious metals, private banking, and structured finance.
Krishnan has over 31 years of experience in the wealth management industry, spanning advisory, communications, and portfolio management.
