Green SM Laos onboards Umoney e-wallet to payments

The two will develop digital and financial payment solutions for Green SM drivers.

Green SM Laos, an e-vehicle ride-hailing app, and Star Fintech Sole, the operator of financial services app Umoney, have signed an agreement to incorporate Umoney in the Green SM app.

With this, customers can pay their fares via the Umoney e-wallet upon trip completion instead of the current and more common manual bank transfer method.

Customers with partner banking applications can also pay drivers through Umoney’s QR system.

Apart from this, Umoney and Green SM Laos will jointly develop digital financial and payment solutions tailored for Green SM drivers, according to a press release. This will encompass e-wallet services, direct income disbursement, operational expense payments, and cash flow management tools.

Both parties plan to expand their shared digital services ecosystem by integrating Umoney and Unitel’s telecommunications and digital utilities into the Green SM platform. These services include SIM card registration, mobile top-ups, data package purchases, and other digital services.
