BDO Unibank posts flat net income of $659.21m in H1 2026

Net interest income rose 11%, whilst non-interest income inched up 4%.

BDO Unibank, Inc. reported a net income of $659.21m (PHP40.7b) in the first half of 2026, flat compared to the $657.59m it earned in H1 2025, its latest financial statement showed.

The Philippine bank attributed it to “strong operating momentum, delivering mid-teens loan growth, double-digit growth in pre-provisioning operating profit, and improved asset quality.”

Net interest income (NII) rose 11% year-on-year (YoY) as gross customer loans expanded 15% to $64.17b (PHP3.9t), according to BDO, which is Philippines’ largest bank based on total assets.

Total deposits rose 13% whilst current and savings account (CASA) grew 4%, BDO said.

Non-interest income rose 4%, led by a 14% rise in insurance, it said.

Pre-provision operating profit rose 12%, which BDO attributed to containing its operating expense growth to a single-digit pace.

Non-performing loan (NPL) ratio declined to 1.64% by the end of H1 2026, from 1.75% the same period last year. NPL coverage is 132%, whilst credit cost rose 67 basis points (bps).

Common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio is at 13.1%.
