
Malaysia and Thailand to strengthen joint efforts in cybersecurity
They aim to enable more effective information sharing and capacity building.
Malaysia and Thailand’s central banks have inked a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their joint efforts in cybersecurity and digital fraud protection.
Under the MOU, the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Bank of Thailand (BOT) aims to promote a closer working relationship to enable more effective information sharing, capacity building, and exchange of best practices, according to a statement posted on the central banks’ websites.
BNM Governor Dato' Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour and BOT Governor H.E. Dr. Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput signed the MOU.
“This partnership with Bank of Thailand will significantly deepen our cooperation in cybersecurity and the fight against digital fraud,” said BNM Governor Dato’ Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour.
“Through this partnership, we aim to enhance the resilience and security of our financial systems for the benefit of consumers in both countries,” said BOT Governor H.E. Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput.
