Citi snaps up UBS franchise chief to lead ASEAN real estate
Indran Thana joins Citi Singapore as MD, bringing 16 years of UBS real estate experience.
Citi has appointed Indran Thana as Managing Director and ASEAN Head of Real Estate, Investment Banking, effective June 2026, the bank said in a press release.
Based in Singapore, Thana will report to Matthew Nimtz, Head of ASEAN, Investment Banking, with a matrix reporting line to Ben Connolly, Asia Head of Real Estate, Investment Banking and Co-Head of Capital Markets and Advisory for Australia and New Zealand.
Thana joins Citi from UBS, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure for Asia. Since 2010, he led teams at UBS, building the firm into a top-three regional franchise and developing relationships with major real estate groups across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
His experience spans the full spectrum of real estate investment banking, including digital infrastructure.
Earlier in his career, Thana held positions at DBS Bank, Maybank Investment Bank, and Amanah Capital.
Citi said the appointment strengthens its ASEAN real estate franchise and reinforces the bank’s capacity to deliver advisory and execution services across traditional and emerging real estate sectors in Southeast Asia.
