Standard Chartered taps ex-Citi head of markets as global head of international banking

James Lye will begin his role on 1 November.

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed James Lye as global head, international banking, and is tasked with leading the group international banking. He joins on 1 November and will be based in Singapore.

Prior to his new role, Lye served as head of markets for Citibank's international personal bank Singapore, a business unit specialising in offshore investment and wealth management products for high net worth individuals in the Lion City.

He brings 20 years of banking experience.

The bank currently offers international banking in four of the top cross-border hubs globally: Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, and Jersey. 

Lye reports to Raymond  Ang, global head, Affluent Clients; and Samir Subberwal, head, consumer, private & business banking, Asia, and global head, digital business.
