Vietnam banks still cautious on lending

Fears of credit availability still linger as banks remain cautious towards new lending.

According to Maybank Kim Eng analyst Tham Mun Hon, some banks have lowered  their lending rate and by and large, interest rates are expected to head a further 3%  lower this year. "However, credit availability remains an issue as the banks are still taking a cautious view towards new lending," he added.
