BSP warns of entity fraudulently using its name and logo

The entity collects fees and personal info to purportedly secure clearance for loans.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said that an entity named “UNA Financing Corporation” is fraudulently using its name and logo, and names of BSP employees and officers.

In an online statement, the Philippine central bank warned of the entity’s scheme that involved collecting fees and personal information to purportedly secure the BSP’s clearance for the loans.

The BSP said that it is not connected to, and has no dealings with, UNA Financing Corporation.

“The BSP further emphasizes that in performing its official functions, neither the BSP nor its personnel will solicit money or request information that could compromise financial accounts,” the statement read.
