Consumer loans "still too small" to boost Indonesian banks' loan growth

Working capital loans still dominate.

The overall weighting of property loans (house/shop/office mortgages) is 9% of total loans, still too small to lift loan growth significantly, says UOB Kayhian.

"Overall, consumer loans comprise 27.6% (1H16) of total loans while working capital loans still dominate with 48%. Lower lending rates will spur growth in property loans (1H16: +8.5% yoy), but multi-purpose rates remain high."
