HDBank clinches $50m loan to fund climate projects, women-led firms

This brings HDBank’s total credit facility in Proparco to $100m.

The Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank), along with Proparco, has signed a credit facility worth $50m.

This brings HDBank’s total credit facility in Proparco to $100m, according to a press release.

HDBank said that it will use the proceeds to finance and refinance climate projects.

The proceeds will also be used to support women-owned or women-led enterprises that meet the criteria of the 2X Challenge programme, a global initiative to promote gender equality and sustainable development.

Proparco is the private sector financing arm of Agence Francaise de Developpement Group (AFD Group).

HDBank first took a $50m five-year credit facility from Proparco in August 2021. The proceeds were used to finance renewable energy projects in Vietnam.
