Japan Post Bank to begin offering disaster recovery housing loans

The 41 branches with a loan service department will begin offering the service.

Japan Post Bank will commence handling housing loans for disaster recovery provided by the Japan Housing Finance Agency beginning 7 May 2025.

This is a type of loan for the construction or purchase of housing for those who have obtained a certificate of disaster victim notification confirming that their home has been completely destroyed, severely damaged, moderately damaged, or half destroyed as a result of an earthquake or other disaster.

To start, 41 branches of Japan Post Bank that have a loan service department will begin offering this type of loan.

Japan Post Bank expects that the loans will have an insignificant impact on its business performance.
