Taiwanese banks’ bad loans fell in Dec 2024

The NPL ratio remained the same.

Taiwanese banks’ bad loans decreased in December 2024 compared to a month earlier, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

A total of $7.57b (NT$248b) of outstanding loans was held across 38 domestic banks as of end-2024.

Of this, about $1.87b (NT$61.4b) are non-performing loans, a decrease of $0.09b (NT$3b) compared to the end of the previous month.

The average NPL ratio remained the same as in November 2024.
