Citi names ex-BNP Paribas banker as new head of markets for Thailand

Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul was head of global markets and ALM Treasury at BNP Paribas.

Citi has appointed Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul as head of markets for its Thailand business.

Assavavisessivakul will assume his role in August 2024 and will be based in Bangkok. He is expected to drive business growth and lead Citi’s markets franchise in Thailand.

He reports to Sue Lee, Citi’s head of markets for Asia South; and Fourth Narumon, Citi Country Officer and banking head, Citi Thailand.

Assavavisessivakul brings over 23 years of experience in the role. He joins from BNP Paribas’ Thailand operations, where he was head of global markets and ALM Treasury.

Prior to that, he had served as head of fixed income, commodities, and currencies sales at Bank of America Thailand.

Assavavisessivakul started his career at KPMG Thailand, specialising in business restructuring and financial modelling and reporting.

The appointment is just the latest in a line of recent leadership appointments in Citi's operations in Asia. Earlier in May, Citi named Damien Tan as head of corporate bank for its Singapore operations.

Citi has also recently combined its Japan, North Asia, and Australia clusters, with Marc Luet taking over as head of the new integrated cluster.
