DBS appoints sustainability leader to drive Asia’s low-carbon push

Kelvin Wong will serve as Chief Sustainability Officer, starting 11 May.

Kelvin Wong is appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer at DBS, effective 11 May 2026, where he will lead the bank’s sustainability efforts.

Wong joined DBS in 2016 and currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure in the Institutional Banking Group. He will replace Helge Muenkel, who will leave the bank as he relocates overseas.

Tan Su Shan, Chief Executive Officer of DBS, said Wong’s experience in energy, policy regulation and financing positions him to advance the bank’s sustainability agenda with clients and communities.

Before joining DBS, Wong held senior roles in specialised finance at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Standard Chartered Bank, covering project, acquisition, and leveraged finance, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He also served at the Energy Market Authority of Singapore.

Wong holds an honours degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from Arcadia University.

He is a member of the International Energy Agency Finance Industry Advisory Board and has served as a peer reviewer of the agency’s Southeast Asia Energy Outlook report since 2021.
