NETS to resume selling and use of FlashPay card

The current card-based ticketing system will operate alongside the SimplyGO system.

NETS will continue to sell and support the NETS FlashPay card following officials’ decision to extend the existing adult card-based ticketing system.

Earlier this month, NETS had announced a card exchange program after the Land Transportation Authority (LTA) earlier decided to phase out its existing card-based ticketing system for adult commuters.

The LTA has since decided that it will operate the adult card-based ticketing system in parallel with its SimplyGo system.

Commuters who have purchased a NETS Prepaid Card between 9 and 22 January 2024 will have the option to exchange their cards to a NETS FlashPay Card.

“NETS will work with LTA to finalise the exchange process and update commuters once the details are finalised,” the payments company said in a press announcement.

NETS added that it will resume sale of NETS FlashPay Cards at SimplyGo Ticket Offices, convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, Cheers, Buzz, NETS Customer Service Centre and Lazada and Shopee online channels.

Meanwhile, the NETS Prepaid Card, which can be used for transit and retail, will also continue to be available to consumers who prefer its functionalities.
