Bank of Fukuoka taps BDO Unibank as Philippine partner

The partnership aims to serve the needs of Japanese clients seeking business expansion.

Japanese regional lender Bank of Fukuoka Ltd., (BoF) has tapped on Manila-based BDO Unibank as its Philippine partner.

The partnership aims to serve Japanese clients who seek to venture into the local business scene or plan to expand their business.

BDO said in a statement that the partnership was a milestone for the bank as no Japanese regional bank in the Kyushu region has forged such ties with any local lender in recent memory.

BoF has 170 branches and representative offices in Dalian, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and New York.
