HSBC deploys team to service Greater Bay Area's tech talent

The bank is keen on serving customers in Guangdong and Hong Kong in particular.

HSBC has set up dedicated teams in the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Greater Bay Area to cater to financial services from the emerging technological hub.

According to a press release, HSBC China's first Innovation and Technology Team in Guangdong will focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in new economy industries like e-commerce and advanced manufacturing.

On the other hand, HSBC’s new Innovation Business and Growth Team in Hong Kong is dedicated to boosting the overseas plans of homegrown tech startups.

“The Greater Bay Area initiative is a key catalyst for innovation as well as cross-border collaboration in the region...We have set up these new teams to help our customers capture opportunities from China’s growing leadership in innovation,” said HSBC head of commercial banking for Hong Kong Terence Chiu.
