
Big Four state-owned banks are world’s richest
Dominate list of banks with highest net interest income.
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China’s largest bank and the first Chinese bank to top The Banker's World Bank Ranking, was also Number One in the magazine's 2013 net interest income ranking.
ICBC's net interest income hit US$66.4 billion in 2012, a 15% increase from the previous year. China Construction Bank ranked second with a net interest income of US$56.2 billion. Agricultural Bank of China's net interest income of US$54.4 billion was the world's third-highest.
Chinese banks performed well on this year's top banks list. Four of the world's top 10 banks came from China with ICBC taking first and China Construction Bank ranked fifth.
