HDFC Bank names new chief of internal vigilance

Sachin Suryakant Rane was a senior police inspector before joining the bank.

India’s HDFC Bank has appointed Sachin Suryakant Rane as chief of internal vigilance (CIV) for a period of three years, effective 1 November.

Rane replaces Prasun Singh, whose tenure as HDFC Bank;’s CIV ended on 31 October 2023.

Rane brings over three decades of experience managing fraud and financial crime investigations.

Over the years, he has handled several security setups as well as matters involving criminal offences both at the national as well as international level, according to HDFC Bank.

Rane is a graduate of the Maharashtra Police Academy and Mumbai University. Prior to joining the bank, he was Senior Police Inspector and OIC of the Legal Cell, Airport Branch (Immigration).

He first joined HDFC Bank as deputy CIV on 20 March this year.
