Metrobank nabs ex-Citi banker as deputy head of HR

Angeles has worked for Citi, BDO, and HSBC.

The Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) has appointed Karen Salve Lee Angeles as vice president and deputy head of human resource management group.

In a bourse filing, the Philippine-based bank said that its board of directors has approved the hire in a regular meeting held on 20 August 2024.

Prior to her new role, Angeles spent about nine years in Citi, where she held various HR roles for different Citi businesses. Angeles has also worked for BDO Unibank and HSBC.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas and has an MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, and a certification course in HR Advisory from eCornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
