MUFG completes $4.26b Shriram Finance investment

It now holds a 20% equity stake in SFL.

MUFG Bank has completed a $4.26b (INR396.18b) investment in Shriram Finance Limited.

It now holds a 20% equity stake in SFL on a fully diluted basis.

MUFG Bank subscribed to over 471.12 million equity shares at an issue price of INR849.93 per share.

The transaction is reportedly the largest cross-border investment in India’s financial services sector.
